Should I relocate to Greece?
Relocation can be a scary prospect but is it really as hard as you think? As I sit watching the sparks of Summer being quickly extinguished by the constant drizzle of British weather I do often contemplate what it would be like working in more pleasant climes. With so many companies offering relocation packages at the moment, it would seem far easier for the European jobseeker to work from different locations, and with many of these roles starting on a contract basis there is the opportunity to assess whether you wish to continue on a permanent basis or not. Certainly, if I were starting out again I would be grabbing these opportunities with both hands - what better way to start your career by gaining invaluable experience working with an international team?
Currently, a large proportion of the language jobs we are advertising are based in Greece, so should you relocate?
Well, life expectancy is higher for one - and that would imply that the quality of life is generally better. Being surrounded by a fantastic mix of beautiful scenery, friendly people and a rich history certainly has its benefits. Added to which the cost of living is generally cheaper than the UK and most EU countries. As with any major life decision it's always best to fully investigate the pros and cons, and there is a wealth of information available to help you make that choice. After all, the grass always seems greener, and the sea always looks bluer when your immediate view is obscured by storm clouds and rain!
